Questo concorso è nato nella convinzione che la comunione storica tra la civiltà araba e quella siciliana abbia lasciato tracce indelebili, sopravvissute nei riti quotidiani della vita di ogni siciliano. Lo scopo di questo concorso vuole essere, quindi, portare alla luce tali segni. Le poesie dovranno rispettare, pena esclusione, i seguenti canoni concorsuali:
- tematica orientata su costumi e usanze arabe;
- lingua siciliana;
- massimo una cartella (1300 caratteri spazi inclusi).

I miei cipressi escono a stento dall'intrico del boschetto. Il loro anelito di vita cerca di orientarsi nel turbinio confuso di un cielo incredulo di fine estate. Qualche giorno ancora e forse la visione si farà più chiara.

Oggi, l'aria del mattino in questa valle d'incanto è fredda più che mai, ma Settembre offre senza falsi pudori la sua luce abbagliante e un cielo terso nel cui profondo blue can sink up to lose.
