Cunti ETNA-sutta of the Muntagna
and Giovanni Calcagno, percussion and lutes Salvatore Scandurra, video Alessandra Pescetta
In the wake of the great Sicilian tradition of narrative theater, halfway between the techniques of storytelling and of qulle cuntista, this performance meets two important texts that have as common ground, the valley of Etna: the Pervigilium Veneris, anonymous Latin poem of the 2nd century AD C. hailing the arrival of Venus in the spring and Cantiga Etna, inspired by the events related in the end is a miraculous eruption of the volcano, probably composed in the 13th century AD C.
