Il Nobel al primo della classe


It took a few seconds to trigger the debate on the network. Before the blog, then on the pages maintained by the signatures of the media that matter. The argument is more or less always the same: "The Nobel Peace Prize to quote Obama," an encouragement given by members of the committee to the fine words spoken here and the Democratic president. The speech in Cairo, the UN, the words on race. Flights of fancy written by a good speech-writer and, now, not much more.
Then there is the speaker of the second prize after anti-Bush and Al Gore who's medal for a U.S. president does not behave as a reckless cowboy. In many, including U.S. analysts tell us that the Nobel can be counterproductive for the international aspirations of the presidency.
The list of 'if' and 'but' is infinite. Obama is the man in Afghanistan, the president of the war, did not close the base in Vicenza and has not done enough to Honduras after the coup by which the Micheletti coup deposed the elected President Zelaya. And what about the environment? It's difficult and unresolved dialogue with Iran or for the catastrophic situation in what was once called "the peace process in the Middle East." Tra gli ultimi premiati ci sono due personalità provenienti da Paesi semi dimenticati - il banchiere dei poveri Yunus e l’ambientalista del Kenya Wangaari Maathai - Al Gore per la campagna sul clima (risultati?), Mohamed El Baradei, presidente dell’Aiea che ha cercato di smussare gli angoli con l’Iraq, prima, e con l’Iran, poi. Si tratta di storie relativamente piccole o di approcci alle grandi questioni planetarie, come il premio all’Ipcc, la commissione Onu sul clima.
