“Teatri in Città 2009” a Caltagirone: musica e teatro contemporaneo

will take place in Caltagirone (CT) from 21 until 25th August 2009 the 15th edition of the festival of contemporary theater theaters in town , promoted by the 'Cultural Association "Argo."

The festival, directed by and Nicoleugenia Prezzavento Fabio Navarra, nel corso degli anni si è affermato a livello nazionale come un esempio di manifestazione culturale volta a promuovere la nuova drammaturgia contemporanea italiana. Ma può definirsi anche un esempio di perseveranza degli organizzatori nel voler continuare a resistere nella programmazione nonostante il progressivo taglio di fondi da parte delle Istituzioni.

In questi anni comunque non è mancato il successo di pubblico e di critica e finanche la prestigiosa assegnazione nel 2005 e nel 2007, di una medaglia d’argento da parte della Presidenza della Repubblica Italiana in riconoscimento ai suoi meriti culturali e sociali.

Opens the festival, Friday, August 21 , the Danish band FÆRD that presents " KRISS - Music from the North Sea": a project that brings together numerous influences: a common place where jazz, fusion, traditional folk styles the most diverse and fascinating sonic influences meet.

Saturday, August 22 the Theatre Ditirammu Palermo present "Crollalanza, account for giullaresco W. Shakespeare”: guitti, clowns, e ribelli dell’immaginazione, i quattro attori in scena svelano, come fedeli discepoli, il segreto di Shakespeare, forse di origini siciliane e quindi “ Scecspir ”, forse inglese come vorrebbe la Regina.

Sempre da Palermo arriva la compagnia Pentola Nera , che Domenica 23 Agosto presenterà “ Danlenuàr ” , spettacolo in cui la terribile tragedia dei minatori italiani morti nelle miniere del Belgio nel '56 and the harsh reality of our escape from the misery of the South, are returned in the form of an epistolary dialogue, through the eyes of the two white protagonists.

Monday, August 24 Giovanni Calcagno and the Society of the Holy House present " ETNA - Cunti sutta the muntagna " show that fits in the wake of the great Sicilian tradition of narrative theater, halfway between the techniques of storytelling and those of cuntista to tell, two ancient texts in Latin and Galician the extraordinary force of nature in these parts of the Volcano Etna.

will close the festival, Tuesday, August 25, the Public Theater Incanto with the national premiere of the show "FRAGILE " , the author and director Tino Caspanello working on the suggestions of language, gesture, image, story, music, continues with his work of writing and staging the path of reconstruction fragments of life, those little shock everyday too often escape our perception.

This year the festival will take place entirely within the framework of architectural and natural Patti Villa which will accommodate events and artists on the bill.
